#  Sri Lanka 🇱🇰

“Srilanka has everything” is the phrase i always use when someone asks me how was srilanka.

It was the second time for me in SL & I went there to build & train the newly built engineering team for Krane but got a plenty of time to roam around in weekends.

I stayed in colombo for majority of time but went to couple of beach towns in the south. Luckily i got there in the best time of the year with very good weather, clear blue skies, golden beaches & navy blue water. Also there were very very less tourists that time of the year as apparently its off peak season.

Mirrissa & Unawatuna is a must of you get a chance to go there. Bentota is pretty nice as well and is very close to colombo.

I also traveled to the central hills, i was missing bit of a cooler weather after living in constant 30°C+ (80F+) and landscapes a lot being a Nepali and it was mesmerizing. Sigiriya was super hot & super humid but after reaching Kandy things started to cool down and look more picture-esque & Nuwara Eliya was absolutely amazing, it gave a very small european town vibe with foggy, chill temperatures going down to 10°C (50F) in the evenings.

There’s this small lake & the town is surrounded by tea gardens, there are waterfalls nearby too, it felt like a very distant cousin of Ilam.

Speaking of waterfalls, next in the list was Ella the vibrant hill town. The environment here is very upbeat and vibrant especially at night. Very popular cafes/bars around, the famous nine arch bridge, couple of mountains (they call it not me) you can hike up to. There are lot of waterfalls around but unfortunately I couldn’t go due to the short time i had there. Maybe next time!
